BIOGRAPHY

I began performing from an early age, encouraged by my Mother, who put on concerts to raise money for the local church, I started singing and playing the piano. The piano didn’t go so well so I was to pick another instrument. I went for a Cornet, this was going ok until someone put a Trombone in my hands. That was it I was hooked. I played in School and then really started honing my craft in local Big Bands in Somerset. I progressed onto the professional circuit playing Soul, Funk, Latin and Big Band. I decided to follow my dream and study Band Musicianship at University College Salford as a 'mature' student, where along with a vast amount of performing experience in a wide array of bands and styles, a BA Hons, was gained.

Since then I have gone onto perform and record across the UK, Europe and the U.S. with artists such as Yazz, Ray Lewis of The Drifters, Kula Shaker, Omar, Natasha Watts, Ray Davies and Annie Whitehead to name just a handful.

Having been instrumental in forming the dbhorns who specialise in providing top quality horn sections, I am now performing nationally with And Finally - Phil Collins.

“A secure, solid player with a 'Phat sound'” (Chris Lloyd - Talon), I relish playing in such a tight section for such a talented and professional show.

Tom's influences include Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Incognito, Fred Wesley, Dennis Rollins, Frank Rosolino , J.J. Johnson, Ray Barretto, Nils Langdren, Michael Dease.
